Description
“The Point of Contact: Awareness into Application” – Workshop with Instructor Joshua Craig
The point of contact is the moment where solo training becomes functional and partner work comes alive — the bridge between solo and partner training, where structure and awareness meet, where real application is born.
In Zhong Xin Dao I Liq Chuan, skill does not come from technique, but from the ability to align oneself to the point of contact, allowing force to be received, transformed, and expressed without resistance.
This workshop focuses on understanding how internal alignment, structure, and awareness are carried through the point of contact into real interaction. We will see that when the body is unified, contact no longer becomes a clash of forces, but a channel through which information, balance, and control are exchanged.
Participants will train how to:
* Recognize and manage points of contact as they arise
* Maintain dynamic balance while receiving and issuing force
* Move beyond fixed techniques into responsive, condition-based action
* Experience how awareness directs application
Training emphasizes sensitivity, alignment, and mindful engagement rather than strength or memorized responses. By refining how we meet contact, applications emerge effortlessly—whether in martial practice or everyday movement.
This workshop is suitable for practitioners of all levels and backgrounds, and is especially valuable for those seeking to deepen their understanding.
