Holy cow -_-" . i just reached malaysia the other day. i decided to exploit my so called golden oppurtunity everyone constantly grills me about and to grab my grandpa to train for a bit while my dad napped. i only trained for a little over an hour but for some reason it was oddly tiring. We play for a little bit and despite my tremendous strength difference i had with him, he kept saying that it doesnt matter how much power you have if you cant use it. Evidently enough he manages to "suck" up all my power. It never fails to amaze me. He then had my practice the usage of my elbows to block incoming body strikes, also practice splitting. he then had me train grip strength. i did for quiet a while my hands STILL hurt -_-"

w00t! sounds great. can you

w00t! sounds great.

can you go into some detail on using the elbows to block the body shots?  like upper frontal wipe or more intercepting with the lower arm horizontal?

how were you training grip strength, like your ba has us do (like crushing the air) wrapping in and out, or were you using some kind of equipment?

it's awesome that you get to train with the GM now that you're basically fully grown and strong as an ox.  that way you won't have any doubt that the training is real! Cool

now wheres the video!?! Laughing

no, for reals though...

Pretty cool. I had the chance

Pretty cool. I had the chance  to train with Grandmaster last year so I know, what you mean. His elbows are light and heavy at the same time.

Best regards to all of you over there in KL from Miro

I'm not completely sure what

I'm not completely sure what you mean by  "intercepting with the lower arm horizontal"  im not 100% sure but i think its the sagital plane. He instructed me to cut the strike with my elbow i believe it was at a 45 degree angle which is like the thing my dad always talks about with attack at 90 and defend with 45. i believe its using the lower half of the circle to block the strike.

In regards to the grip training. he didnt quiet specify how he just said focus on squeezing and wrapping my hands really tight to the palm. so i didnt really focus on my feet i tried curling in my fingers at each fold one at a time with alot of tension untill my hands hurtCry  theres no actual material to grip so i guess it'd be the air. and haha no video.

My grandpa also had me work on lower hand control. where you drop one hand to off the opponent if they are pushing at you. and yea miro its kinda like that but i havnt quiet experienced it he has been lettin me off him or whatever for me to learn so he has not actually applyed his skill. and i dont really recall last year =/ so far the only skill he really demonstrated was his odd ability to cut off all my power in my torso. which evidently makes me tire really fast.

No, its not the thing in the

No, its not the thing in the video,  in the exercise i was doin my hand was facing down and to redirect the opponents force downward. and again im not clear on what you mean shoulder and hip push? i think its along those lines, minus the actual shoulder and hip, i was learning to drop my hands in a way to off balance the opponent.
