Vienna Study Group (July 24-26, 2009)

We just got back from a fun ILC weekend that we spent out in the countryside with 5 ILC students and their spouses. The ILC retreat went from Friday night to Sunday afternoon, and included walks through the woods, a trip to a farmer's market, a boat trip, a tour of a castle, a theater production put on by a group of children and ILC demonstations and training opportunities for locals interested in understanding ILC a little better. We all chipped in for grocery shopping, cooking and cleaning, and the time passed very quickly.

In the morning we did some qigong warm-ups and light partner training, and then on and off throughout the day we'd work on forms, spinning, waving and other parts of the ILC curriculum. For those not interested in ILC training, there was also an alternative program which offered stretching, yoga and Pilates. We also had plenty of opportunity to just relax, chat and get to know each other better.

On the last day of the retreat, we went over to the dock on the river where we tried to see how far we could push our partner from the dock into the river (there were actually a couple of volunteers willing to get in the cold water).

The retreat was a lot of fun - we might do another one at some point up in the mountains of Slovakia.
