LEARN TO MOVE YOUR BODY MORE SAFELY, EFFICIENTLY AND POWERFULLY!

I Liq Chuan (roughly translated as "The Martial Art of Awareness") is an art of cultivating concentration and awareness based on Tai Chi and Zen principles of non-assertions, non-resistance, harmony of yin and yang, oneness, and the present moment.

I Liq Chuan (pronounced ee lee chen) is an internal style of Chinese Martial Arts. Tai Chi is the best known and most popular style of the internal arts.Like Tai Chi, I Liq Chuan can be very effective in promoting health, relaxation and developing a calm state of mind. However, unlike most schools of Tai Chi being practiced today, I Liq Chuan is also a very effective fighting art which can be trained for self defense

"I think the style is amazing! I have tried a few different types of martial arts, but this style incorporates so much balance. From what I saw in the first meetup it is a great way to get into shape and promote health and wellbeing. With a little backround in qigong I could feel a lot of energy in the simple movements and am excited to learn more!" - Ashley

Local Events Calendars

Thanks Ashe! This is great stuff.

I have taken the time to find all the local free online event listings and free paper listings, as well as craigslist. Each month I get a few hits from each... over time it grows.

I find that offering free introductory 'mainstream' type events every month helps to raise awareness and bring in students.

I have had very good results with a local adventure club meetup group, but I think it's unique to the tucson region.

If you want to see the kind of language I use, please see http://thekungfustudio.com

google adwords

In case you don't already have an adwords account, Google has run promos in the past where you get $100 of advertising funds for starting a new account.  You need to fund it with $10 to start off with (but you don't have to spend anything beyond that if you don't want to).  I think I got mailed the new account promo for having an adsense account.  It might be worth getting an adsense account (free) to get the adwords promo, or try Googling an adwords promo code.  In a small city like Lancaster, PA, just getting "tai chi" as my ad keywords lasted a few months.

what kind of response did you

what kind of response did you get from it?

i have my suspicion that if you pay for adwords that google seriously inflates the relevance of your website in the organic search results.

there's a shaolin-doh! school in my area that ALWAYS lands in the #1 spot for tai chi or kung fu and it vexes me to no end.  their site breaks all the rules of good SEO yet there it sits, snuggled nicely into the top spot.

merchantcircle is running a promo where you basically pay $120 and you get three months of their service which runs an adword campaign on the bigger search engines for you.  i've been wanting to try that out, and i probably will soon, but i'm dying to see what happens to my list position (which floats around #3 or #5).

on another note, i'm going to discontinue running listings on craigslist.  a) i don't think their content gets indexed, so it doesn't help your SEO at all and i haven't gotten a single call or email (legitimate), but i DO get a shit load of spam.
