Hello,

this question is kind of directed to Ashe, Kelley, Johnny, Ben, and those who maintain some sort of ILC presence on FB.

I'm trying to setup an FB page for the Hawaii group and still do not have a good sense of which type of FB site is good. Currently I have a hawaii ILC FB page setup as an open "groups" type.

Should i do a "organization" type FB page ?

What are the current thoughts and suggestions you guys have, since you guys already played with this stuff for much longer than i have  ?

I was hoping for some

I was hoping for some guidance like if you want XYZ, then use FB groups ... but if you want QRS, then use the business page ... I personally prefer feature X, becoz it let's me do TUV ...

nevermind, i'll just stick with FB groups ...

Facebook page

I agree with Ashe.  A Facebook page is the way to go.  Groups aren't visible to non-facebook users, but Pages are indexed by search engines.  Messages posted to the group only pop up as notices on the left column.  Stuff posted to fb pages show up in peoples' newsfeeds.  There was some advantage to groups, but I don't remember what it was.  I just remember my buddy who does social media marketing breaking it down, and we determined that the page was clearly the better option.
