Dear I-Liq Chuan practitioners, Master Sam, Ashe et al.

Having long been a fan of I-Liq Chuan since I first found clips of your awesome style on the net some years ago and loving the way you guys move and longing to train this beatiful martial art style.

I am thinking of travelling to one of Sam's seminars somewhere in Europe to get myself a foundation to start training on my own. However before doing that I was thinking of buying one of the 15 basic exercises dvd's to start working on the basic jinbengong of I-liq chuan and then maybe learning the form after that (which I already own on dvd) just to be more prepared

I have trained yang style taichichuan and yin fu style bagua for before so I believe myself to have some experience of structure and feel.

Now my question. Should I get the basic 15 exercises dvd or could I go immediately with the grading criteria dvd in case if there is better instructions on it and more clearly filmed? Which one should I buy?

Regards

Christopher

Hi Christopher, welcome to the I-Liq Chuan forum!

Personally I think the material is presented a bit more clearly on the Cirterion DVD in terms of being laid out clearly and methodicaly.  The 15 Basic DVD is presented a bit more like a traditional workshop setting.   Both DVD's are worth having though. Wink

Are you already in Europe?  You might get the most out of a workshop by hooking up with one of the instructors or group leaders there and they can build a foundation for you if you start sooner rather than later.

Thank you Ashe!

I'm in sweden so I'm thinking of going to poland or germany for one of the workshops. Have to save up some money first though! Tongue out

Another question for Ashe. Is kettlebell training compatible with I liq chuan? I'm asking as i've seen you do it in one of your videos.

I see that when I try to order in the new system that you only ship to Usa & Canada. Is it possible for me to order the criterion dvd to be sent out to sweden?
