3rd International Summer Camp with Master Sam Chin, July 9-22nd, 2012

HOW TO REGISTER:

1) Send an email application (ALL application specifications below must be included) and receive an email response.
2) Submit an advance payment of 2,300 Grivnas ($300 USD; 9,200 Rubles) by June 1st. Payment must be received by the organizers prior to this date (this advance payment will not be reimbursed if you cancel after June 1st. If you cancel before June 1st the advance payment will be reimbursed, minus cancellation fee). In Moscow, you can pay in Grivnas or USD. If transferring money to Moscow, it can be in Rubles or USD.
3) Receive email notifications/confirmations of payments, transfers and making the list of participants, etc. Participants from Moscow and surrounding regions must submit full payment by July 1th, 2012. All others may pay final sum at arrival.

In your email, put “Summer Camp 2012 - All” , “Summer Camp 2012 - training”, or “Summer Camp 2012 – Meditation Practicum” in the subject line and please include the following in the email:

 

1. Last Name, First Name, Middle Name, Age, Date of Birth.
2. Country and place of residence.
3. Years studying I Liq Chuan, your instructor or group leader, your level.
4. Years studying other martial arts, who are your instructors, levels.
5. Telephone, e-mail.
6. Dietary specifications: either regular or vegetarian.
7. Preferred accommodations: bungalow (cottage) or tent (bring your own), duration of your stay. If you share your tent, please provide the name of the other person(s).
8. Transportation from Kiev to Zvenigorod estate: we can arrange charter transfer for additional fees
9. For those who would like to take the train from Moscow to Kiev together with other participants, we will depart Moscow the night of July 7th and arrive in Kiev the next morning. For those who would like to take the train back from Kiev to Moscow, we will depart Kiev in the evening and arrive in Moscow the morning of July 23rd.

**We provide this train arrangement for our I Liq Chuan brothers and sisters so that they can be comfortable and have an enjoyable experience. In order for us to include you in our group ticket purchase, please be cooperative and complied with the instructions. Please send a copy of the passport page with your data and specify sleeping preferences on the train (semi-private or shared), and submit timely payment for the train tickets (times and cost will be specified after receiving all requests).
10. Please specify the advance payment method and you will receive an email response for further inforation. The balance can be paid in one of the following ways:

a) cash (can be paid in Pleasant Valley, Center School in Moscow, or at some workshops)

b) checks (can be made to “Chin Family I Liq Chuan”)

11. Would you like to take a sightseeing trip to Kiev? A sightseeing trip will /will not be organized depending on the number of participants. There will be an additional cost for this.

ACCOMMODATIONS DURING THE RETREAT
• Cottages (bungalows – on the hills of Dnepr River) - provide accommodations for the total of 62-65 persons
• Tent camping (Unlimited)

Accommodations will be arranged by the retreat organizers based on the number of male and female attendees. If you select sharing accommodations, and know whom you will be sharing with, please specify the name of the person(s). If you are staying for only part of the full term and select cottage accommodations, your request for accommodations will be considered, but in the event that we are overbooked, priority will be given to the applicants staying the full term. If you stay in your own tent, you may arrive and stay at your own convenience. Friends and family of I Liq Chuan participants can bring their own tents and stay on the camping grounds OR request to be accommodated in cottages, those requests will be granted depending on available space; the information on the housing availability will be finalized between the 1st and 10th of June.

Cottages: Amenities provided: heat, electricity, several rooms are air-conditioned, sheets and towels will be provided and changed once a week, bathroom facilities will be in the suite or elsewhere on the premises. There will be hot water 24/7, each house is equipped with own boiler. Windows are equipped with mosquito nets. Sleeping accommodations varies: most rooms can sleep three or four persons; there are two rooms that can sleep 8 and 12 persons. There are a total of 62-65 sleeping spaces. Specify whether you need double or single beds and we will try to accommodate your requests. Children under 5 may stay for free only if they share beds with their guardian/parents.

 

Tent Camping: arrive with your own tents, sleeping bags and all necessary equipment for living in the woods. You do not need to bring your own food though, all participant are entitled to full board. There will be an outdoor shower, however, you may bathe in Dnepr River, or use a Russian Steam Room for an additional fee. As a general rule there are no electric outlets on the camping grounds, with the exception of one or two sockets which will have to be shared. Heaters are not provided.

 

COST (ACCOMMODATION + MEALS + TRAINING)

1. I Liq Chuan instructors receive a 10% discount off of training (please bring your passbook to show current membership payment).
2. Attention: in the Ukraine all monetary transactions are made in Grivnas (for transportation, food, shopping, etc.)
3. The final payment for the Summer Camp is calculated in Grivnas. If you pay in US dollars, the conversion rate at that time will apply.  

Cottage accommodations (from 5 to 14 days, staying for fewer days may be possible depending on availability of space):

 

For I Liq Chuan students (members of ILC Association, your passbook must show the current year's membership fees paid in full)

•  For two weeks 8,200 grn (586 grn/night)
•  For one week 4,249 grn (607 grn/night, the price is valid for stay from five to eleven nights)
•  For one to four nights stay (not including meditation practicum) - 724 grn/night.
•  For Meditation Practicum – 586 grn/night

For all other participants (non-members)

•  For two weeks 9,020 grn (644 grn/night)
•  For one week 4,655 grn (665 grn/night, the price is valid for stay from five to eleven nights)
•  For one to four nights stay (not including meditation practicum) - 781 grn/night.

Tent camping (one day to two weeks):

For I Liq Chuan students (members of ILC Association, your passbook must show the current year's membership fees paid in full)

•  For one week 3,720 grn (532 grn/night, the price is valid for stay from five to eleven nights)
•  For one to four nights stay (not including meditation practicum) - 649 grn/night.

•  For one week 4,128 grn (590 grn/night, the price is valid for stay from five to eleven nights)

Electricity: Voltage is 220, please remember to bring adaptors/converters, if you carry your own electric devices!

 

Electric outlets available in all cottages. All houses are heated (boilers). If you are staying in a tent, it is your responsibility to provide additional insulation and sleeping bags in case of inclement weather.

Food: three meals a day, included for all participants (whether you are staying in a cottage or your own tent). It will be local Russian/Ukrainian cuisine; Ukrainian students evaluated the food as "very tasty". Vegetables are grown locally on the estate. Please specify if you would like to request half portions for children aged 5 and under, staying with you.

Drink: well water. Faucet water comes from the same source, it is certified drinkable.

Refrigerators: no refrigerators in the cottages, but one refrigerator will be designated to store personal medications.

Swimming: the Dnepr river.

Shopping: small local stores are in a nearby village, also the administrator of the estate will be going to Kiev and back almost daily, and can do some shopping for you as needed.

Phones: all providers, but connection strength varies.

Parking: on the territory of the estate. The territory is secured. Additional parking space will be available as needed.

In addition: Excellent fishing (bring your own fishing gear, or rent it from the administrator). Russian steam room is available upon request at a cost of approximately $5-$6 USD per person. There are grills for shish kebabs, you need to bring your own coals, firewood can be purchased from the administration for 75 rbl per bundle. Gazebo. Horseback riding for an additional fee - about 300 rbl./hour. 

For an additional fee, we can arrange transportation to take you swimming at another part of the Dnepr river.

 

HOW TO GET TO ZVENIGOROD ESTATE

**Prices for transportation are subject to change. These prices are based on 2011.

Public transportation: In Kiev you need to take subway to the bus station "Vydubichi".

1) If you arrived to Kiev by train, take subway from "Vokzal'naya" to "Teatralnaya", there change to a different subway line and go to "Zolotye vorota", from Zolotye Vorota change again to go to Vydubichi. 


2) If you arrived by air (Borispol airport) - get to the subway station "Borispolskaya" and take the subway train to "Vydubichi", direct. Once you got to the bus station "Vydibichi", take any of the buses marked "Rzhishhev", "Bukrin", or Kanev", and go to the town of Rzhishhev. The bus is about $2 USD (16 Gvn), and run every halfhour. Contact estate administration for a pick up from Rzhishhev, or take a taxi from Rzhishhev to Zvenigorod estate (give the driver address (above), taxi costs about $5 USD).

• Pick up from Kiev: if you are traveling alone or in a group of up to 12 people, we can arrange transportation from the owner. They will pick you up in a minivan (seating 19), no luggage space, costs $76 USD, and will be split by the members of the group.

• Pick up from airport: possible, please notify in advance if you need a pickup from the airport (approximate cost $60 USD), takes up to 3 people.

• Driving: The distance from Kiev to the Zvenigorod estate is 70 km. Take Stolichnoe Shosse from Kiev in the direction of Koncha Zaspy. Follow the old Obukhovskaya trassa to the exit to Plyuty. Then follow the main road to Rzhishchev, passing Ukrainka, Tripolie, Khalepie, Staiki, Grebeni. Upon entering Rzhishchev, follow the main road to the boat station downtown. Cross the river Leglych by the bridge, the main road then turns left along the embankment, follow the main road. Take a note of the mileage on your speedometer. Follow the embankment to the crossroads, and turn left, the road starts going uphill. From the boat station in Rzhishchev go 5 km and 300 meters. You will be passing the woods on you left, you will see a sign "ПМ ", a sign "Turn right to Rzhishchev", a sign "Stroitelnyj Technikum". One kilometer before reaching the exit to Balyko-Shchuchinka (if you see Balyko-Shchuchinka sign, you missed your turn, go back), you will see a left turn onto the dirt road, the sign reads "Zvenigorod - ILIQCHUAN". Take the dirt road to the estate.

• I Liq Chuan Charter Transportation: Charter bus of I liqchuan Association will leave Kiev for Zvenigorod around noon on July 8th, on the return trip the bus will leave Zvenigorod for Kiev on July 22nd around 14-15:00. Travel time is approximately 3 hours, maybe less without the traffic. Please place your request for the charter transfer at the time when you apply for the retreat participation. The exact transfer fee will be determined after we collect all requests. If you requested your seat on the charter bus, and did not take it, you will still be charged the transfer fee. One way trip may be available. 


 *NOTES for Attendees*

1. Items to Bring

List of must-have items for all participants:

• Sleeping pad or sleeping bag, or a picnic chair - something to sit on during the meditations
• Any anti-bacteria ointment/spray
• Mosquito, bugs repellent for indoors and outdoors
• Hand sanitizer (for partner training – no less than 3 mid-size)
• Skin moisturizer
• Any medicine for stomach
• Band-aid, antiseptic
• Adhesive band-aid in rolls
• Hydrogen peroxide
• Iodine – or any medicine/ointments for cuts
• Gauze pads, or rolls
• Cold medication (Theraflu, Nyquil, or the likes)

Students should have I Liq Chuan uniforms (t-shirt, trouser, sash) and passbook.

The training program is subject to change in the process, student may want
to bring cap, knee-pads, shin-guards, foot-guards, boxing gloves. Any ointment to relieve the appearance of bruises

 2.   Participants can order I Liq Chuan books, videos, and I Liq Chuan outfits.  Orders will be delivered to the camp. 3. Medical insurance

It is mandatory that all participants obtain a medical insurance covering sports activities for the duration of the camp.

4. Grading

Participants, planning to take a test, please submit an application in advance (by June 15th). Membership fees should be current at the time of the grading (can be paid at camp). Grading will be on July 18th after breakfast, but subject to change.

Please Note!

In order to be graded, you need to be an I Liq Chuan member. For each grading level there’s a minimum requirement. You may apply for membership and grading for the first level at the same time. For grading, bring in your I Liq Chuan passbook. Grading dress code: I Liq Chuan T-shirt, I Liq Chuan black silk pants, sash, all neatly ironed.

• Fill out the membership form
• Submit membership fees ( $50 USD for adults, $30 for kids, full-time students and seniors)
• Submit 2 color self-portrait passport size pictures
• Buy uniform (t-shirt, trouser, and sash)
